Goodbye, Japan..

Well, it’s official. I am being forced to leave Japan by my exchange company. This will probably be my last week here, despite officially having 3 months left.

At this point, I dont want to leave my host family. I feel like im cheating. They will be stuck dealing, while I run away.

I will still be posting TONS of pictures and videos that havent been posted yet, so this blog wont die.. It’s just so sad to be leaving.

Also, I apologize for the bad grammar in the post about Fukushima

I was trying to type quickly because I was translating it as it went, and not really paying attention to what I was typing. Besides the bad grammar, the facts are all correct, so please reblog to spread the word

AN UPDATE ON THE NUCLEAR SITUATION IN JAPAN:

tenleid:

DIRECTLY FROM THE CONFERENCE HAPPENING AT 8:30PM JST:

The explosion happened cause the water inside the thing steamed, and this steam raised the pressure and this changed into hydrogen and THIS caused the explosion. Inside the container theres no oxygen so no explosions in there and the inside has NOT been damaged. So , to repeat, the explosion was NOT INSIDE so it will NOT CAUSE ANY RADIATION TO LEAK OUT. The radiation did not increase after the explosion, it stayed the same. The level has actually DECREASED after the explosion.

Therefore at this moment the radiation substance leakage to outside has not had any change, so “please remain calm”. They still want to prevent leakage in advance. The tokyo power has decided to fill the reactor with sea water.

Found a map in english. It only shows the south, the red stretched right up to Hokkaido though. Just FYI.

I know you guys are really worried about Tokyo, but..

There’s other parts of Japan in just as big of a panic, if not worse. Parts of Chiba are in flames. Hokkaido is under water. There’s now 300+ dead in Miyagi alone.

We just got evacuated, again. this time they said the mountain we went to wasnt high enough, so we booked it to a relatives house. Tokyo is, i think, okay for now. The rest of the coast is in big shit though, the Tsunami warnings just kicked back up to the highest possible for the entire east coast of Japan.

Keep praying. Keep safe. Be happy you’re at home, safe infront of your computers, on your way to school and work and with your families.

UPDATE AS OF 03/11 9:05 JST: 40 Dead, 39 Missing.

Please try your best to get in contact with your loved ones.
